Some students believe community involvement is unnecessary and a waste of their time and resources.
However, many other’s believe engagement in their school communities is a key aspect in succeeding at school. Who is right?
Many studies show that students who are actively volunteering and engagning in their communities “tend to earn higher grades, attend school more regularly, stay in school longer, and enroll in higher level programs.”
Whether it’s connecting with charities, non-profit organizations or businesses in need of aid, student involvement in their communities can help both the student’s themselves in their education and at the same time help those in need.
