What My Post-Secondary Experiences At The University Of Bristol Taught Me
Of course, not everything about your life and career is dependent on your post-secondary education.
However, your post-secondary experience is much more than a credential.
I am now a current undergraduate student at King's College London, and due to the pandemic, I obviously haven't had the most immersive university experience.
Nevertheless, I've learned a ton about my ability to adapt and resilience in times of despair and uncertainty. Even through Zoom, I've met so many amazing people that I'm lucky to call my friends, professors or mentors.
Universities, colleges and other post-secondary institutions can provide you with opportunities to broaden your interests, seek out mentors and intellectual stimulation to inspire you for a lifetime.
Another honorary mention has to be the importance of access to an alumni network. I cannot overstate how much I have learnt from the alumni I have interacted with and the beautiful, unique experiences and tips every individual has to share.
Higher education, in my opinion, isn't just about earning a degree.
If I step back and examine what my university experience entails and I hope continues to entail, one of the most crucial skills has to be learning new ways to ponder and reason outside of my comfort zones.
