Why Should We Teach Social Sensitivity In Schools?
Social sensitivity is such a broad topic that teachers generally don’t want to breach in fear of accidentally offending someone.
But how is our younger generation ever going to learn about something widely ignored?
Being open-minded begins with acceptance of people, regardless of race, gender, and socio-economic status.
Much of the pressure and challenges our new generation faces grows from the root of ignorance. Knowing what is truly “comedic” and what is offensive is a life skill that everyone should know about, and one can put that on par with their basic communication skills.
At the end of one’s completed education, one should be able to understand the difference between curiosity and invasiveness.
It is a basic functioning life skill and lesson that all students should have learned before they enter the real world of no boundaries. So, where is it?
